The Stone Arch Bridge reconstruction project officially begins in April 2024. Starting around January 22, a Snooper truck will be on the bridge for approximately for 3-4 weeks to do some pre-work.
A Snooper truck allows workers to access the underside of the bridge. Workers will be measuring bridge stones so they can order the proper materials.
MnDOT will cone-off the area around the truck but the bridge will remain accessible to pedestrians and bicyclists during this work.
The Stone Arch Bridge reconstruction project is scheduled for April 2024 - October 2025. During construction, pedestrians and bicyclists will not be able to cross the full length of the bridge. Crews will close half of the bridge at a time during construction, allowing people to walk or bike to the middle of the bridge and turn around at the closure. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
