The METRO E Line is a bus rapid transit project that will provide faster and more reliable transit service along a large portion of Route 6. The E Line would follow the Hennepin Avenue corridor in downtown Minneapolis and Uptown.

In late 2018 Metro Transit began evaluating more segments of Route 6 as potential end points. Based on the evaluation, we have narrowed down to three potential routing options on the south end and are recommending that the E Line continue along University Avenue and 4th Street SE to the north.
