The City of Minneapolis is starting outreach for the 2024 street lighting replacement project which will take place in multiple Council Wards. The main goal of this project is to replace existing direct bury wire street lighting with a new and more reliable street light system. This will reduce light outages requiring maintenance and increase reliability.
In the outreach meeting the City will provide information on the following items:
show approximate project area (see DRAFT map attached)
highlight improvements (LED fixtures, replacement of direct bury wiring)
provide basic assessment information (75% City cost, 25% assessment to adjacent properties)
provide estimated timeline for project which includes
